Changes to Optus D3/10 Satellite Signal Parameters for the VAST Satellite Service
Attention WA VAST Users:
Upcoming frequency changes on Optus D3/10 VAST services will impact Satellite TV Headends that redistribute VAST WA TV services. Please take note of the following updates:
FEC Changes – 4th February 2025
The Forward Error Correction (FEC) rate will change from 3/5 to 2/3 on the following Optus 10 transponders:
- Transponder #3 (12367 MHz) – WA Commercial Channels (7 Regional, WIN, TEN)
- Transponder #6 (12487 MHz) – Eastern States Commercial Services
- Transponder #8 (12567 MHz) – WA Radio Services, SBS NEWS, SBS
- Transponder #10 (12647 MHz) – WA ABC Services
These changes should not affect VAST Headends such as the Ikusi HTI-424 or Ikusi FLOW, as these systems support Auto FEC functionality.
SBS WA Bouquet Transponder Frequency Change
- The SBS WA bouquet will move from Optus D3 Transponder #5 (11886V, 30000, 3/5) → Optus 10 Transponder #8 (12567V, 30000, 2/3)
- A dual illumination period will run from 13th March 2025 to 30th June 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.
- Action Required: Any WA VAST Headend programmed for SBS must be reprogrammed to the new frequency.
Important Note
These updates will not affect VAST-certified satellite receivers, including Altech UEC, Satking, and Humax.
